Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel rooting for Leicester

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel is putting aside his Old Trafford allegiances for Leicester City.

The 52-year-old will be in attendance Sunday at the famed ground not to watch his beloved club, but to celebrate a potentially historic achievement with his son Kasper in goal.

"I live in and die by the results of Man Utd, but today I want the other team to win," Peter told BT Sport. "Blood is thicker than water."

Despite growing up with his dad at Old Trafford, Kasper Schmeichel, the No. 1 starter for Cinderella story Leicester, has never played there competitively before. He missed last season's contest at the Theatre of Dreams - where father Peter became a legend - and this year, Kasper could realise his own.

"Old Trafford has been a part of my youth, part of my growing up. It is somewhere I have spent a lot of time, in the stands, in the tunnel. I am just looking forward to it," said Kasper.

"I have always, for some reason, missed out on playing there. It's hopefully going to be a special afternoon. Let's hope we get the result we want."
