Ozil: 'There's no hurry' to sign new Arsenal deal
Mesut Ozil is comfortable with his deal at Arsenal, adding he's in no rush to sign a new contract with the north London outfit.
With his deal set to expire in 2018, talks of a new contract have persisted throughout the season following Ozil's impressive start to the year.
However, Ozil is happy to see how things play out during the final weeks of the season as Arsenal attempts to secure a place in the Champions League.
"I have two years left on my contract," Ozil told Sport-Informations-Dienst, as translated by the Evening Standard. "There’s no hurry. We will see how it goes at the end of the season."
Like Ozil, Chilean star Alexis Sanchez has been linked with a long-term extension.
The club reportedly began negotiating with the pair earlier in the season, but appears to have delayed talks until the season concludes. Which is probably a positive move for the German midfielder as he closes in on a league record.
Ozil sits two assists away from equaling Arsenal legend Thierry Henry's record for most assists (20) in a Premier League season. Though his pace has slowed down dramatically, he still has three matches to equal or break the mark.
