Mario Balotelli doesn't want to return to Liverpool: 'I wasn't happy'

Mario Balotelli isn't interested in taking the pitch at Anfield.

In the aftermath of AC Milan's 1-0 Serie A victory at Sampdoria, Balotelli, who rejoined the Rossoneri last summer on loan from Liverpool, made it clear he wants to remain at San Siro on a permanent basis, saying he was unhappy at the club he joined in August 2014 for a reported £16 million.

"When it comes to my future I want to stay with Milan because I wasn't happy at Liverpool and I don't want to return there," Balotelli said, according to the Guardian. "And plus, Milan has the money. I've been doing well in my last two games, there are another six for me to prove myself. I feel in good shape physically at last and am relaxed."

Balotelli's fall from grace has been sharp. After starting all three group-stage fixtures for Italy's national team at the 2014 World Cup, he went on to tally only one goal through 16 appearances during the 2014-15 Premier League season.

Reports have linked Balotelli with a move to AS Monaco and, according to InsportPlus, he met with club president Dmitry Rybolovlev.
