Liverpool's Sterling facing assault charge
Liverpool, England (Sports Network) - Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling has been charged with assaulting a woman stemming from an incident in November.
According to police, a 27-year-old woman suffered minor injuries during the incident, which took place in Liverpool.
The 18-year-old did not attend a court hearing on Friday, but his lawyer stated that Sterling denies the allegation and plans to plead not guilty.
Sterling has appeared in 22 league games for the Reds this season, scoring two goals with two assists.
