Arsenal's Gervinho out for three weeks
London, England (Sports Network) - Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger revealed Thursday that winger Gervinho will be sidelined for the next three weeks with an ankle injury.
The Ivory Coast international sustained the injury shortly after coming on as a second-half substitute in the club's defeat of QPR last Saturday, joining already-injured goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, defender Kieran Gibbs and midfielder Abou Diaby on the sidelines.
"Compared to last week Gervinho is of course out, for we think three weeks," said Wenger. "We have no comebacks, no Wojciech, no Gibbs, no Diaby."
Gervinho, 25, is Arsenal's leading scorer in Premier League play with three goals. He will miss the club's trip to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United on Saturday as well as subsequent matches against Fulham and Tottenham.
