Van Persie injury worry for United
Manchester, England (Sports Network) - Manchester United striker Robin van Persie could miss this weekend's match with Wigan after picking up a thigh injury on international duty.
Van Persie was substituted during a 4-1 win for the Netherlands against Hungary in World Cup qualifying on Tuesday, and Dutch coach Louis van Gaal said the move was a "precautionary measure".
But Van Persie will undergo further tests upon returning to Old Trafford to determine the severity of the problem.
The 29-year-old has scored four goals in three games since joining United from Arsenal over the summer, but manager Sir Alex Ferguson will already be without striker Wayne Rooney because of a deep gash to his leg.
