Tevez says he moved on from missed 2011 penalty: 'What happened four years ago is over'

When Carlos Tevez stepped up to the penalty spot Friday night with the chance to secure Argentina's place in the semifinals of the Copa America, supporters were surely experiencing flashbacks of his missed penalty from the last edition of the competition.

Tevez, on the other hand, claimed he had no such thought on his mind.

Speaking to the host broadcaster after the match, the 31-year-old forward, whose return to Boca Juniors was confirmed during the game, insisted he had already moved on from the missed penalty that triggered a collapse in his career.

"This is for my teammates," Tevez told the host broadcaster after the match. "It's not just for me. Football always provides an opportunity for revenge, but what happened four years ago is over."
