Ezequiel Lavezzi will miss the Copa America Centenario final after suffering a broken elbow during Argentina's 4-0 win over the United States.

Manager Gerardo Martino revealed to reporters that the 31-year-old will require surgery.

The injury occurred after Lavezzi, who scored the opener against the U.S., attempted to get on the end of a cross-field lob and crashed into and over the advertisement boards on the touchline.

He was taken away shortly after on a stretcher as he clutched his elbow in obvious pain.

Martino did not reveal a timetable for the former Paris Saint-Germain player's return.

Argentina will play the winner of Wednesday's semifinal encounter between Chile and Colombia.
