Venezuela shot itself in the foot in the first half of its fixture against Argentina in the Copa America Centenario's quarter-finals.
Already down 1-0, Venezuela passed the ball around in its own half before Arquimedes Figuera was betrayed by his brain, playing a sloppy pass that was easily intercepted by Gonzalo Higuain. With Oswaldo Vizcarrondo and Wilker Angel out of position, and Daniel Hernandez caught in no man's land, Higuain needed only three touches to double Argentina's lead.
It's worth noting that entering the match, Higuain had attempted eight shots in the Copa America Centenario, none of which found the back of the net.
Not since 2013, in a 2014 World Cup qualifier, had Higuain scored twice in a non-friendly game.
