Jairo Riedewald extends contract with Ajax until 2020

Jairo Riedewald will be playing out the back at Ajax for the foreseeable future.
On Monday, Riedewald put pen to paper on a contract extension that will keep him at Ajax until 2020 which is retroactive to Jan. 1 2016. His previous deal was set to expire in 2019.

Riedewald, a 19-year-old centre-back who is a staple of Ajax's backline in the Eredivisie this season, joined the club's youth academy in 2007 and made his first-team debut in 2013. As a result of his rise at Amsterdam ArenA, he also earned his first cap for the Netherlands last year.
