Defending Portuguese league champion Benfica was the first to score during Wednesday's Champions League Matchday 3, as Nicolas Gaitan's silky individual effort gave the club an early 1-0 advantage over Galatasaray.
Gaitan got the better of Aurelien Chedjou before cutting in to the left and chipping the ball above a lunging Fernando Muslera. The goal was the Argentine's third in three matches.
