Often, their interference of a match is met with disapproval from players who are focused on the game and view the intrusion as an unnecessary distraction.

Once in a while, however, pitch invaders receive the type of welcome that a supporter experienced during Boca Juniors' 4-0 win at Guarani Antonio France in the Copa Argentina.

Carlos Tevez, whose return to his boyhood club this summer marked one of the biggest transfers in Boca's history, was in the process of exiting the pitch in the 71st minute of the fixture when a woman ran on the pitch to embrace the club icon. And in a reminder of just why Tevez is the most popular man in Buenos Aires, he rewarded the supporter for her courage.
