Patrice Evra on meeting with Luis Suarez: 'He will feel me on the pitch'

Patrice Evra is anticipating a physical battle with his old Premier League foe Luis Suarez when the two meet in the Champions League final.

Suarez was found guilty of racially abusing Evra in 2011 when the pair represented Liverpool and Manchester United, respectively, with the Uruguayan striker being handed an eight-match ban as a result.

The feud didn't end there, as the first meeting between the two teams resulted in another controversial incident when Suarez refused to shake Evra's hand before a match in 2012.

Evra- who signed with Juventus in the summer after eight years with United - pledged that he will take a professional approach when he goes up against Suarez and Barcelona in Berlin on June 6.

"I am proud to be what I am, I am proud about my colour and I will shake his hand, it is no problem, but I will make sure he will feel me on the pitch," Evra warned after Juventus' semifinal triumph over Real Madrid.

Both players are enjoying extremely successful first seasons away from England's top flight.

Suarez and the Catalans look to be on the verge of winning La Liga, and could capture the treble if they win the Copa del Rey and Champions League. While Evra's Juventus are looking for the double after already winning the Serie A title.

Suarez will have another controversial reunion during the Champions League final when he goes up against Giorgio Chiellini. It will be the first meeting between the two since the Barcelona striker bit the Italian player's shoulder during the 2014 World Cup. Suarez received a lengthy suspension for his actions.
