VIDEO: Thiago, Boateng erase Bayern Munich's 2-goal deficit
A pair of headers from Thiago Alcantara and Jerome Boateng erased Bayern Munich's two-goal deficit within the first 25 minutes of their quarter-final encounter with FC Porto.
Bayern's relentless pressure in the opening 15 minutes finally paid off Tuesday when Alcantara opened the scoring.
The German club's game plan of consistent pressure during the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final was obvious after several attempts at goal put the FC Porto defence under duress.
The tactic proved effective when Thiago got on the end of Juan Bernat's cross toward the near post and thumped in a powerful header past Porto 'keeper Fabiano.
It was Boateng's turn less than 10 minutes later, when he leaped over defenders and guided a header in to double Bayern's lead.
