Premier clubs have been put on alert following Andre Ayew's admission that he'd prefer a move to England when his deal with Marseille concludes in the summer.

The Ghana international's days at the only club he's ever known appear to be coming to an end, as he's been the focus of several European teams in need of a talented midfielder with a nose for the goal.

"I have had a lot of different offers from different countries, but I will have to discuss with Marseille," Ayew told Sky Sports.

"I will make a decision soon, and look at the offers that are coming in and decide what is best for my future.

"The Premier League is the best league in the world today, and it would be an honour play there."

He went on to talk about the advice he's been given from several players who have Premier League experience, and also confirmed he was close to making a move to London in January until Queens Park Rangers owner Tony Fernandes reportedly vetoed the transfer.

"It is true there were talks (with QPR)," he said.

“But at the time it was not the right move for me and Marseille, which is important too. Nothing could be agreed so we moved on.”

Other than QPR, Ayew has been linked with moves to Arsenal, Swansea City and Newcastle United, but the midfielder hinted that a transfer to the Merseyside would be his dream.

“All my life I have been a Liverpool fan,” Ayew admitted.

"Steven Gerrard is my favourite player. It will not be easy to see him leave in the summer, but we all need a new challenge."

Ayew, who helped guide Ghana to the Africa Cup of Nations final, has enjoyed a quality season with Marseille after recording seven league goals in 22 appearances.
