Former Dortmund, Juve defender Kohler: Buffon is weak link, Dortmund will advance
Former Borussia Dortmund and Juventus defender Jurgen Kohler had no trouble predicting which of his two former clubs will emerge victorious in the second leg of their Champions League tie on Wednesday.
Kohler, speaking to German outlet Bild, said that Jurgen Klopp and his men will easily take care of the Italian side and advance to the quarterfinals, singling out Gianluigi Buffon as a key weakness Dortmund can exploit.
"I am confident BVB will qualify for the quarterfinals. Juventus might be top of the Serie A table but they have a number of weaknesses," Kohler said, as translated by beIN Sports.
"Buffon once was an extraordinary goalkeeper, but he is no longer the shot-stopper he once was. He has been making quite a few mistakes lately. Juventus are vulnerable in defence."
Kohler continued: "The result of the first leg is a very dangerous one for Juventus. Dortmund are always capable of punishing them if they sit too deep. Players like Marco Reus and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang can score a goal from out of nowhere.
"My prediction? I think Dortmund will go 3-0 up and eventually win the match 3-1."
Juventus came away with a 2-1 victory in the opening leg, a result which leaves Dortmund needing only a 1-0 win to advance.
