Juventus can reach Champions League final, says Marchisio

Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Barcelona.

The three European giants are considered by most to be favorites to reach the Champions League final this season, and with good reason.

But Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio thinks another side is capable of making an appearance in the tournament showpiece. Hint: You won't be surprised by his choice.

"We want to aim higher than in recent years in Europe," Marchisio told Sky Sport Italia, as translated by ESPN FC.

"We want to reach the final. We can be a match for Borussia Dortmund because, apart from Bayern and Real, we are a match for anybody.

"We dedicated a lot of time in January to being ready physically for the Champions League," the Italian midfielder added. "We can't neglect the league, but we do have our minds on Dortmund. It's important that we do well in the home leg."

Juventus, who were knocked out of the competition in the group stage last season after reaching the quarter-final - and losing to Bayern Munich - the previous year, begin their round of 16 tie against Dortmund at home on Feb. 24.
