Sergio Aguero thinks Manchester City 'have a chance now in Rome to qualify'

Sergio Aguero may never score a hat-trick as important as the one he notched against Bayern Munich in Champions League action Tuesday.

The Argentinian striker's three goals against 10-man Bayern, including his 90th-minute winner, allowed Manchester City to leave the Etihad Stadium with a 3-2 win and keep their hopes of progression very much alive. In fact, a draw against Roma on the final matchday of the group stage could be enough to allow Manuel Pellegrini's side to book a spot in the knockout stages.

It's a remarkable turnaround for a club that had looked virtually eliminated from the competition at the interval. Speaking after his heroic performance, Aguero discussed City's Champions League fate with optimism and calmness. 

"In the first half we got the first goal and we were doing more or less OK but then we lost two goals when didn't expect it," Aguero said, according to the Guardian. "In the second half we applied a bit more pressure and luckily we got the win. We've a chance now in Rome to qualify and it's a question of going there and winning and just thinking about ourselves."

City's crucial clash against Roma will take place Dec. 10.
