Didier Drogba and Wesley Sneijder were brought to Istanbul for games like these.

Though their star was waning, the duo showed up in the biggest of ways on Wednesday afternoon, combining to lead Galatasaray past Juventus 1-0 and into the round of 16. 

Drogba took to Instagram to celebrate the big win. 

Teammate Felipe Melo spoke to Sky Sports Italia following the game and had a special shout out to the Italian media. “In football you never know and the Italian media should’ve had more respect for Galatasaray," Melo said, according to Football Italia. "The Corriere dello Sport wrote after the draw that Galatasaray and Copenhagen were two ‘sweeteners’ for Juventus, but they were proved wrong.”
