3 things you need to know about Tuesday's Champions League action

Another day of Champions League action is in the books.

Ajax became the first team to beat Barcelona this season, Group F has lived up to its billing as the Group of Death and Jose Mourinho sounds like a very confused man.

Here's everything you need to know about today's Champions League action...

Ajax ends Barcelona's unbeaten streak

Ajax fans can dare to dream after a stunning result in Amsterdam on Tuesday.

The Dutch giants became the first team to conquer Barcelona this season, overcoming a red card to beat the Catalan juggernauts 2-1. Goals from Serero and Hoesen were the difference for Frank de Boer's side.

Ajax can seal a spot in the round of 16 with a win over AC Milan, who trounced Celtic 3-0 in Glasgow, on the final match day. The Italians only need a draw to advance. All or nothing at the San Siro. This is what they play for.

It wasn't all good news at Amsterdam Arena however.

Let's hope everyone involved is okay.

The Group of Death lives up to its billing

When the group stage draw was held the pundits pointed to Group F as the obvious choice for the 'Group of Death' moniker. It turns out they were right.

Dortmund trumped Napoli 3-1 to keep their chances of advancing to the round of 16 alive. Once again Napoli's poor defending came back to haunt them. The Germans victimized Rafa Benitez's side on the counter attack throughout.

Napoli isn't out, however, but they'll need to pull off a big win at home over Arsenal on the final match day.

Arsenal control their own destiny with one game left to play. Napoli needs to beat the Gunners 2-0 in Naples to derail Arsene Wenger's plans. Somehow, hey Marseille, three teams in Group F could end up with 12 points.

Jose Mourinho is confused

The special one was at a loss for words following Chelsea's 1-0 loss to Basel. Apparently, the international break had quite the negative effect on his club. "I feel the team was tired and paid the price from the international break," Mourinho said following the game.

Chelsea definitely looked lackluster throughout the match and Basel's Mohamed Salah made them pay with a late winner to send the fans at St Jakob Park into hysteria.

Chelsea managed to qualify for the round of 16 thanks to the goalless draw in Bucharest, but Mourinho clearly has some work to do in order to prepare his side for a grueling slate of games that lie ahead.
