Gabriel Jesus has fractured metatarsal; potential 3-month layoff
Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus suffered a fractured metatarsal in Monday's 2-0 win at Bournemouth, with the new arrival set for further assessment by the club's medical staff.
The in-form 19-year-old could be sidelined for up to three months, according to The Telegraph's James Ducker.
Accounts from medical experts collected by BBC Sport note the recommendation is no exercise and sport for six-to-eight weeks, but Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel was sidelined 14 weeks - or around three-and-a-half months - with a similar injury in 2014.
Younger bones tend to heal quicker, however, with Tim Vickery pointing out that Jesus showed remarkable recovery time last year when he represented Brazil before flying to play for Palmeiras the following day.

Ahead of his inclusion from the first whistle at Bournemouth - which lasted just 15 minutes - Jesus had scored three and assisted one in three competitive starts, demoting City icon Sergio Aguero to the bench. Jesus' enforced withdrawal saw the introduction of the Argentinian, whose outstretched leg managed to knock the ball off Tyrone Mings and into the net on 69 minutes.
Aguero will now be expected to step up in Jesus' absence, and Kelechi Iheanacho - perhaps unfairly shunted out of contention lately despite tallying a league strike every 102 minutes in his career - will also push for minutes spearheading the attack.
In the worst-case scenario, Jesus will hope to be available for the Premier League's final day at Watford on May 21. The FA Cup final is on May 27, with the Champions League showpiece a week later, should City reach the latter stages of either competition.
