Guardiola content with draw after Celtic spoils City's perfect record

Pep Guardiola's perfect run came to an end Wednesday during Manchester City's thrilling 3-3 draw with Scottish champions Celtic.

The home side was sent into a frenzy when Celtic opened the scoring, before Fernandinho, Raheem Sterling, and Nolito found the back of the net to bring the match level on three occasions.

Despite being forced to come from behind in front of a raucous crowd at Parkhead, where the Spanish coach has struggled in the past with Barcelona, Guardiola was pleased with his team's ability to overcome adversity and leave Glasgow with a point.

"Sometimes you start behind. It's not easy to come back, so imagine two, imagine three," Guardiola told reporters.

"We adapted quite well. They are strong, (Mousa) Dembele is strong in the air. In the first half they won all the second balls and we had problems to control that.

"It's a mental shock when you concede a goal."

After witnessing the influence that Celtic supporters have had in the past when his Barcelona side suffered a stunning loss as visitors in 2012, Guardiola praised the Scottish side's long history in European competitions, adding that he hopes for a similar environment at the Etihad Stadium in the future as City continues to be a regular fixture in the Champions League.

"Each club has its personality," Guardiola said. "What I want at Manchester City is what they are.

"Every club has history, personality, the way it handles the situation, the support. I’m pleased with what we have. Celtic have a huge history in Europe and we're here to build ours up."

As for the perfect record City carried into the match - just one win away from matching Tottenham's 11-game win streak to start the 1960-61 cacampaign - Guardiola revealed that he didn't feel the need to address it with his players ahead of the match.

"I didn't speak about the record with my players. I don't think it’s necessary to speak to them – I didn't think they thought they would win every game this season, it's impossible."
