The CFL has ruled the Edmonton Eskimos don't have to pay the Ottawa RedBlacks compensation in regards to hiring Jason Maas.
Edmonton released a statement Friday, saying it considers the matter resolved.
"The Edmonton Eskimos have been informed by the league office of the decision made with regard to the dispute with the Ottawa RedBlacks over the hire of Head Coach Jason Maas," the statement reads. "Commissioner Jeffrey Orridge decided no compensation is owing to Ottawa from Edmonton."
Last season, Maas was hired to be the Eskimos' head coach while serving as the RedBlacks' offensive coordinator. Ottawa sought compensation for the hiring.
