The Saskatchewan Roughriders unveiled an updated logo Wednesday, marking the first time the team has made significant changes to the logo since 1985.

The main changes are the silver being replaced by white and the end of the "S" being shortened.

Here is a comparison between the new and old logo:

"The Rider logo is one of the most recognized marks in Canadian sports," said Gregg Sauter, the team's vice president of business development and marketing. "Our goal was to evolve the logo in such a way that it becomes more vibrant with a distinct focus on the green and white. We feel the modifications will have a positive impact across the growing number of digital and physical mediums we are reaching."

Saskatchewan will start to incorporate the logo this season, and will fully make the change in 2017.
