Ottawa RedBlacks quarterback Henry Burris and Calgary Stampeders pivot Bo Levi Mitchell were named finalists for the CFL's Most Outstanding Player award.

The news isn't much of a surprise, as Burris, 40, became the oldest passing leader in league history, with the 25-year-old Mitchell behind the future Hall of Famer every step of the way.

Burris finished the season with 5,703 passing yards and 26 touchdowns, while completing 70.9 percent of his passes. Mitchell recorded 4,551 yards, 26 scores, and a 65.6 completion percentage.

Earlier in the day, the CFL also announced its finalists for the Annis Stukus Trophy as coach of the year. Second-year Ottawa head coach Rick Campbell was pegged as a finalist after leading his team to an East Division title just a year after owning the league's worst record at 2-16 as an expansion club. Edmonton Eskimos head coach Chris Jones, also in his second year coaching his club, led the Eskimos to yet another successful season, claiming the West Division over Calgary.

The Most Outstanding Canadian finalists went to Ottawa wide receiver Brad Sinopoli, and Winnipeg Blue Bombers defensive end Jamaal Westerman.

Sinopoli, who was a standout college quarterback at the University of Ottawa, had a huge season at receiver for the RedBlacks, notching 1,035 receiving yards, and three scores. Westerman, a native of New York who grew up in Brampton, recorded 61 tackles and 17 sacks.
