Eskimos rally from 16-point deficit to top Lions, keep pace in the West
The Edmonton Eskimos rallied from deficits of 15-0 and 23-7 to best the BC Lions 29-23 Saturday.
Jonathon Jennings went 18-for-30, throwing for 281 yards and two touchdowns and looked poised to walk off with the victory with his team up by 16 with 4:59 left in the third quarter.
The Eskimos had other ideas. After not scoring their first points of the game until the the 2:15 mark of the second quarter, Edmonton rallied for 20 unanswered points to close out the game.
Mike Reilly went 23-for-31 and threw for 209 yards and two touchdowns in the victory.
With the win, the Eskimos keep pace with the Calgary Stampeders, who defeated the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Friday. Edmonton remains two points back of the Stampeders for the top spot in the West Division.
Meanwhile, the Lions fall to 4-8 on the season.
