Alouettes continue playoff chase against league-worst Roughriders

The Montreal Alouettes couldn't have picked a better time to draw the Saskatchewan Roughriders as their opponent.

The Alouettes hold a narrow two-point edge over the BC Lions in the crossover playoff standings and Montreal has a chance to catch the struggling Toronto Argonauts for third in the East with a win over the Riders in Week 14 and an Argos loss.

The Roughriders, meanwhile, are a league-worst 1-11 on the season. But any given Sunday, right?

Although the Alouettes enter as favorites, a victory against the Roughriders is far from guaranteed. Saskatchewan boasts the third-ranked offense in the league and they nearly took down the red-hot Ottawa RedBlacks in Week 13.

Meanwhile, Montreal counters with the league's stingiest defense. The Alouettes rank first in points allowed this season, having conceded just 210 points across 11 games this season.

The matchup will kickoff at 4 p.m. ET at Mosaic Stadium on Sunday.
