The winless Saskatchewan Roughriders have decided to make a change.

Head coach Corey Chamblin and general manager Brendan Taman were relieved of their duties Monday after an 0-9 start, the team announced.

"We are not meeting our expectations or our standards on the field and these changes were necessary to move us forward," Riders president and CEO Craig Reynolds said.

"Brendan and Corey worked tirelessly for this organization and I thank them for all that they have done for our team. But we are in a results oriented business and the current position of our team is unacceptable and this decision was necessary for us to build this team towards sustained success."

Expectations were high for the Roughriders in 2015, but they couldn't overcome losing quarterback Darian Durant to a ruptured Achilles tendon in Week 1.

It was only two years ago that Chamblin earned Coach of the Year honors after guiding the Roughriders to a Grey Cup. He finishes his tenure in Saskatchewan with a 29-34 record.

Taman took over general manager duties in 2010, and was the architect of much of the aforementioned Grey Cup-winning squad in 2013.

Special teams coordinator Bob Dyce will take over the head-coaching duties on an interim basis, while assistant general manager Jeremy O'Day will become the interim general manager.

A search to fill both positions permanently will be conducted at the end of the season.
