Eskimos and Alouettes looking to rebound

The 4-2 Edmonton Eskimos enter Percival Molson Memorial Stadium Thursday for a match with the struggling 2-4 Montreal Alouettes, both teams coming off Week 7 losses.

The Eskimos were up 23-10 going into halftime against the BC Lions last Thursday but idled in the second half, getting outscored 16-0 to lose 26-23 and snap their four-game winning streak.

Slotback Adarius Bowman suffered a lower-body injury in the first quarter of the loss, and it's unclear whether he'll suit up Thursday. Dave Campbell of 630 CHED reports Derel Walker would replace him.

There is some good news for Edmonton, as quarterback Mike Reilly will begin participating in partial practices this week.

The Alouettes played the Ottawa RedBlacks tightly Friday, but couldn't do enough to supplant Henry Burris and his resuscitated squad. Rookie quarterback Rakeem Cato went 20-for-31 for 303 yards with one touchdown, two interceptions and one fumble.

Defensive end Michael Sam played the first CFL game of his career. He did not record a single tackle.

Alouettes wideout S.J. Green reigns over the league with 539 receiving yards, bringing in two touchdowns on 32 receptions.

The game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET Thursday.
