Alouettes, fresh off bye, ready for duel with Stampeders

After defeating the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in Week 4 and coming off a bye week, the Montreal Alouettes are primed for a clash with the Calgary Stampeders on Saturday at McMahon Stadium.

The Als continue with rookie quarterback Rakeem Cato, but will be without one of his best weapons in veteran receiver Fred Stamps, who's tending to family matters, according to Herb Zurkowski of the Montreal Gazette.

Cato's replacement target will be Dobson Collins.

A Bo Levi Mitchell fumble in the first mini-game of overtime against the RedBlacks last week crippled the Stampeders, who lost on a 34-yard Delbert Alvarado field goal.

Calgary will be without the league's best Canadian running back, Jon Cornish, who is on the six-game disabled list with an injured thumb. Matt Walter, Tim Brown, and Tory Harrison are his replacement options.

The Stamps, who were bettered by 18 points against the Als in Week 2 at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium, have a crack at redemption at home where they are 3-0 this season. The game gets underway at 7 p.m. ET.
