Grant Shaw's five field goals, and Matt Nichols' fourth-quarter touchdown pass led the Edmonton Eskimos to a win over the Ottawa RedBlacks on Friday night. The 23-12 win was Edmonton's second victory in its home-and-home against Ottawa.

Neither team could reach the end zone in the first three quarters, but both teams scored on their opening possessions in the fourth.

Less than two minutes after Ottawa took a 12-11 lead, from a 1-yard dive from quarterback Henry Burris, Nichols connected with Kendial Lawrence on a 63-yard catch-and-run to put the Eskimos ahead.

Shaw kicked 39- and 37-yard field goals to end the scoring and improve the Eskimos' record to 2-1. Ottawa sits at 2-2.

Nichols went 18-for-33 for 242 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions. Burris was 29-for-39 with 252 yards and one interception in the loss.

The RedBlacks host the Calgary Stampeders (2-1) next week and the Eskimos are at home against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (2-1).
