Roughriders-Lions Week 3 preview

Neither the BC Lions nor the Saskatchewan Roughriders have triumphed against any team this season.

The Riders' woes began in Week 1, when they lost veteran quarterback Darian Durant on the final drive of the first half in a 30-26 loss against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Substitute quarterback Kevin Glenn was stellar in Week 2, going 33-for-40 with 477 yards, but failed to push his team past the Toronto Argonauts in overtime as they fell 42-40. The veteran will be looked upon to provide that tenacious passing once again, and has more than enough quality options in Ryan Smith, Weston Dressler, Chris Getzlaf and Jerome Messam.

Even a healthy Travis Lulay couldn't claw past the Ottawa RedBlacks in the Lions' only game this season. The injury-plagued quarterback boasted ordinary numbers, throwing 18 completions on 32 attempts for 254 total yards. He had one touchdown and one interception, and will look to bounce back after the defeat.

Andrew Harris should provide supplementary offense from the rush, while receiver Emmanuel Arceneaux will look to snag substantial yardage himself.

The Green-and-White have underachieved defensively, allowing eight touchdowns and 837 yards against through two games. They'll rely on defensive end John Chick to help lift the squad from the bottom of the standings, while BC depends on juggernaut linebackers Solomon Elimimian and Adam Bighill to do the same.

Kickoff is set for 10 p.m. ET at BC Place in Vancouver.
