The Toronto Argonauts are bringing back a familiar face.

Running back Chad Kackert signed with the team's practice roster Sunday, after coming out of retirement in May.

The 28-year-old broke his ankle before the 2013 East Division Final, and decided to retire when the injury did not heal accordingly. He remained with the club as their strength and conditioning coach.

In three seasons with the Boatmen, the running back compiled 1,467 yards on 228 carries, good for 12 touchdowns. He also caught 50 passes for 454 yards, adding two more touchdowns.

Bringing the former Argo back to the club will give the team additional support, should injuries happen.

The Argos also added slotback Dave Stala, running back Brandon Whitaker, and offensive lineman Scott Mitchell to their practice roster.
