Argos name Younger as defensive backs coach

It's been a busy week for the Toronto Argonauts.

The club announced a new ownership and stadium deal for the 2016 season Wednesday after recently making several minicamp signings, announcing a retirement and naming a new defensive coordinator.

The Argonauts made another coaching change Monday, appointing former cornerback Jordan Younger as their new defensive backs coach - a position left empty since Tim Burke resigned.

Not only does Younger have ample experience as a player in the CFL to draw on, he also understands what it takes to win in the league. Younger was a member of two separate Grey Cup-winning Argos teams in 2004 and 2012.

"This situation is just a dream come true, in the sense that I've always been interested in coaching, and having the opportunity to coach - not just at the professional level - but where I've played at is just a true blessing," Younger said.

Head coach Scott Milanovich believes Younger's time as a player will translate well to his new position.

“Jordan is a bright, young coach who played the game at a high level for many years," said Milanovich. "I believe he will relate well to our players and they will learn a great deal from his experience and knowledge of the game.”
