2015 CFL Draft Results: Groulx, Boyko fall, CIS players produce deep class

The 2015 CFL Draft went down in Toronto on Tuesday night. Here's a look at where each of the game's top prospects will be playing their pro ball in June.

An Ottawa native, Alex Mateas was the player the RedBlacks wanted all along. He was in Ottawa on Tuesday night and signed a three-year contract with the RedBlacks before the second overall pick was even announced. He may be the most pro-ready player in the draft class. ... The first three picks in the draft were all offensive linemen - the first time that's happened in CFL history. ... The Alouettes may have reached in taking Chris Ackie, but with a second pick in the first round, they could afford to do it. ... The Eskimos had Danny Groulx fall into their lap at No. 7. Many viewed the No. 1 overall selection as a toss up between Mateas and Groulx. He played both left and right tackle in the top conference in the country. ... The Stampeders closed the first round by taking Karl Lavoie out of Laval - the second consecutive year they've taken a Laval offensive lineman in the first round. ... The six offensive linemen selected in the first round are a new CFL record. The previous record (five) was set in 1987.

Ettore Lattanzio won the 2014 J.P. Metras Trophy as the outstanding down lineman in the CIS. ... Christian Covington was considered by some to be the top talent in this year's draft class, but after he was selected in the sixth round of the NFL draft by the Houston Texans, there are questions as to whether he'll play his pro ball north of the border.
