Eskimos release veteran Eric Samuels after 2 seasons

EDMONTON - The Edmonton Eskimos released international linebacker Eric Samuels on Friday.
Samuels joined the Eskimos as a free agent June 2, 2013.
The six-foot-one, 200-pound Samuels recorded 61 tackles, two interceptions, three sacks and 20 special-teams tackles with Edmonton.
On Aug. 8. Samuels suffered a neck injury in a 33-23 road win over the Montreal Alouettes, leaving the field on a stretcher in the fourth quarter following a special-teams play.
He went to hospital for precautionary tests but was later released and travelled with the team to Ottawa for a game the following week against the Redblacks.
