CFL Game Summary - Saskatchewan at Edmonton

Edmonton, AB (SportsNetwork.com) - John White ran for 134 yards and the Edmonton Eskimos topped the Saskatchewan Roughriders, 18-10, to advance to the Western finals.

Matt Nichols and Mike Reilly split time under center for Edmonton, which knocked off the defending champion Roughriders to set up a meeting with the Stampeders in Calgary next Sunday for a trip to the Grey Cup. Neither quarterback lit the world on fire, combining for 112 yards passing. Nichols was also intercepted once.

Kendial Lawrence picked up his quarterbacks, returning a punt for a touchdown. He also had a game-high seven receptions for 25 yards while Adarius Bowman had five grabs for 45.

Hugh O'Neill had three field goals and two singles for the winners.

It was a forgettable game for Roughriders quarterback Kerry Joseph, who tied a CFL playoff record with five interceptions. Joseph completed just 7-of-17 passes before getting replaced by Tino Sunseri in the third quarter.

It was all Eskimos early on, though they failed to find the end zone until midway through the second quarter. O'Neill kicked field goals of 37 and 42 yards to account for all six first-quarter points.

A single and 21-yard field goal early in the second made it 10-0.

Meanwhile, Joseph was struggling to get anything going for the Riders. Three of his first five passes were intercepted, and Saskatchewan only picked up two first downs in the first half.

Edmonton extended its lead to 17-0 when Lawrence ran a punt back 84 yards for the game's first touchdown.

The Riders got on the scoreboard just before halftime. On 2nd-and-10, Joseph went up top to Korey Williams, who snuck behind two defenders and found himself wide open. Joseph's pass was a bit underthrown, but Williams was able to turn, reel it in and backpedal over the goal line for a 54-yard score.

Chris Milo drilled a 30-yard field goal late in the third after O'Neill posted a single earlier in the stanza.

Neither team scored in the fourth.
