The Montreal Alouettes have traded five-time East Division All-Star receiver S.J. Green to the Toronto Argonauts for a sixth-round selection in the 2017 CFL Draft and a conditional pick in 2018.

The move to Toronto reunites Green with general manager Jim Popp and head coach Mark Trestman.

"Our fans were privileged to see one of the most spectacular players in the CFL during the last ten years," Alouettes general manager Kavis Reed said in a statement. "Decisions like these are never easy to make. On behalf of the entire organization, I would like to wish S.J. the very best."

Green, a veteran of 10 CFL campaigns, has spent his entire career in Montreal up to this point. The 31-year-old helped the Als hoist two Grey Cup championships.

Green played in only two games last season because of an ACL injury. The South Florida product caught five passes for 72 yards, finding the end zone once.
