Lions re-sign DL Mic'hael Brooks
The BC Lions retained a key member of their league-leading defence on Tuesday, re-signing defensive lineman Mic'hael Brooks, the club announced.
“Mic’hael has the ability to be one of the most dominant interior defensive linemen in the league and this is a significant signing for our defence,” Lions GM and head coach Wally Buono said. “The ability to control the line of scrimmage, pressure the quarterback and stop the run are the qualities upon which championship defences are built and by re-signing Mic’hael this is a big step in that direction.”
Brooks recorded 18 tackles in 13 games last season after suffering an ankle injury. In his career - all with the Lions - Brooks has appeared in 28 games, registering 62 tackles and four sacks.
The Lions also announced the signings of wide receiver Marco Iannuzzi and defensive back Ronnie Yell.
