With so much management turnover, the Toronto Argonauts made sure to keep a familiar face on its offensive line for the forseeable future.

The boatmen announced Tuesday they have come to terms with veteran All-Star offensive tackle Chris Van Zeyl on a three-year contract extension.

"I am thrilled to continue my career with the Argos," Van Zeyl said. "I couldn't imagine myself in any other colours. I've had discussions with management and I am very excited in the direction of our team. I look forward to working my butt off to help return winning football to our fans."

Van Zeyl has established himself as a force throughout his eight years in Toronto, appearing in 123 regular-season games, as well as being named the team's Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman in 2012 and 2014, and a CFL All-Star in 2013.

"Chris consistently performs at an elite level at the right tackle position and is one of our most experienced leaders and hardest workers on and off the field," assistant general manager Spencer Zimmerman said. "... He embodies what we look for in an Argo and we're excited he will be anchoring our offensive line for the next three seasons."
