Roughriders sign Duron Carter
The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced Thursday the signing of wide receiver Duron Carter to a free-agent contract.
The move comes less than 24 hours after reports surfaced that the two sides had struck an agreement.
"We are pleased to be able to add a dynamic player like Duron Carter to our football team," Roughriders general manager and head coach Chris Jones said in a news release. "He is a supreme talent with a rare combination of size and speed that has yet to reach his full potential. Adding him to our already deep receiving core will give us multiple options and make us difficult to defend."
Carter, the son of Pro Football Hall of Fame receiver Chris Carter, heads to Riderville after three CFL seasons with the Montreal Alouettes, where he blossomed into of the league's top pass-catchers.

The 25-year-old became a free agent when the Alouettes released him before the end of the 2016 campaign, amid concerns about his presence in the locker room. Carter engaged in a midseason feud with former Als quarterback Rakeem Cato, who was also released by Montreal before the end of the season.
The Roughriders, are coming off a 5-13 campaign, and haven't made the playoffs since 2014.
