The Toronto Argonauts announced Thursday that they have re-signed Canadian running back Anthony Coombs through 2018.

Coombs was on schedule to become a free agent in February.

The native of Winnipeg, Manitoba was drafted in 2014 by Toronto and has since become a versatile member of the Argos' backfield. The running back/slotback has tallied 115 catches for 997 yards and two touchdowns, as well as rushed for 159 yards on 29 carries with one TD over 39 career games in the CFL.
