BC Lions kicker Paul McCallum will rejoin the team after retiring in March, the team announced Tuesday.

"We need to ensure that all areas of our kicking game are competitive with our opponents," general manager and head coach Wally Buono said in a press release. "By bringing in Paul and his playoff production, this is assured."

McCallum is a career 36-for-36 on field goals in the playoffs with the Lions, and will be competing against incumbent Richie Leone, who missed two field goals and two extra points in last week's win over Saskatchewan.

"I'm happy to return and do whatever I can to help the club win a championship," said McCallum. "I believe that Richie and I together give the team a very strong kicking combination."

The 46-year old has won two Grey Cups in his career, both with the Lions, and is a two-time CFL All-Star.
