3 players that could help their team succeed in the West semifinal

The BC Lions will host the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Western Semifinal on Sunday in Vancouver.

The Lions may be the higher seed, but the Blue Bombers swept the season series. These X factors could be the difference for their respective teams:

Bryan Burnham - Lions

The Lions' passing attack received a huge boost this year in the form of Bryan Burnham. After combining for 536 receiving yards in parts of two seasons heading into 2016, Burnham exploded for 1,392 yards and 79 receptions, good for fourth in the CFL in receiving. Burnham had an eye-opening 208 yards on just nine receptions in the first meeting between the Lions and Blue Bombers, but disappeared in the second outing, hauling in four receptions for 48 yards. If the Lions want to get their first win against Winnipeg in 2016, they'll need their surprise star to shine bright.

Andrew Harris - Blue Bombers

In the two regular-season games against the Lions, running back Andrew Harris combined for 266 total yards of offence, with a touchdown. If Winnipeg wants to provide the upset, the former Lion will have to continue to lead the offence on the ground and make an impact in the receiving game. BC defenders will need to know where Harris is at all times as he can cause damage in more ways than one. Harris ranked third in rushing in the CFL with 974 yards, while also having 631 receiving yards.

Paul McCallum - Lions

Lions GM and head coach Wally Buono pulled a shocker heading into the final week of the season, bringing 46-year-old kicker Paul McCallum out of retirement to help solve BC's kicking woes. McCallum is a career 36-for-36 in the playoffs as a Lion and went 4-for-4 in the season finale against Saskatchewan. However, having just one game under his belt in over a year, the extent to which the Lions can rely on McCallum - who is four years away from being on earth for a half-century - is truly the biggest question mark. Either Buono looks like a genius, or a goat.
