The Toronto Argonauts will turn to Drew Willy at quarterback Sunday, as the team announced he will start against the Montreal Alouettes.

Willy was acquired from the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Sept. 11 in exchange for Toronto's first-round pick in the 2017 CFL Draft, a third-round pick in 2018, and defensive back T.J. Heath. The deal came after Argos starter Ricky Ray suffered a deflated lung, which was expected to keep him out of the lineup four-to-six weeks.

Sunday's contest will mark Willy's first start with the Argos. He started the first five games of the season for the Bombers, passing for 1,473 yards with five touchdowns and four interceptions as Winnipeg lost four of five games.

Willy made his Toronto debut during the 29-12 Week 14 loss to the Ottawa RedBlacks, going 16-of-24 for 153 yards and a touchdown in relief of Dan LeFevour, who started the three previous games.

Over the course of five CFL seasons, the 29-year-old Willy has completed 67 percent of his passes for over 8,000 yards with 37 touchdowns and 28 interceptions.
