The Ottawa RedBlacks' wallets became a little bit lighter Monday after they were fined $5,000 for having a player illegally practice with the team, according to CFL.ca.
The team will also have $6,761 deducted from its 2016 salary cap after an unnamed player took part in practice while on the six-game injured list.
Ottawa is the second team in 2016 to be sanctioned for roster violations after the Saskatchewan Roughriders were slapped with a $60,000 fine along with over $26,000 in salary cap deductions due to multiple roster violations.
