The Calgary Stampeders are seeking to extend their unbeaten streak to 10 games when they head up to Edmonton in the "Battle of Alberta" against the Eskimos for the second straight week.

The Stampeders, who haven't dropped a game since the season opener to BC Lions, displayed their explosive offence in their Week 11 win against the Eskimos. Led by quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell, Calgary racked up a total of 502 yards, with Mitchell completing 25-of-32 for 380 yards and two touchdowns.

While the offence has been impressive, the defence has been equally as good, giving up only 20.9 points per game - a league best. Calgary's linebackers and linemen had a field day against Edmonton quarterback Mike Reilly, sacking him four times.

Dave Dickenson's squad is clicking on all levels, including its special teams. Kicker Rene Paredes hasn't missed a field goal in 31 straight attempts, which is a single-season record.

Reilly and the Eskimo offence were smothered in the Labour Day Classic, passing for a season-low 219 yards and getting picked off twice, for a total of five in the last three games.

The Eskimos will get some help on defence, with the signing of defensive end Phillip Hunt, who's been trying out for NFL teams the last five weeks. Hunt previously played with Winnipeg, recording 55 tackles and 19 sacks in 25 games.

The Eskimos currently trail the Winnipeg Blue Bombers by two points in the West standings for third place. The game gets underway at 7 p.m. ET from Commonwealth Stadium.
