The Saskatchewan Roughriders won't have to wait long for the chance to avenge a narrow defeat at the hands of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Saskatchewan will visit Winnipeg on Saturday after falling to the Bombers 28-25 in heartbreaking fashion Sunday, as Winnipeg kicker Justin Medlock hit the winning field goal on the final play of the game.

Despite the loss dropping the Roughriders to 1-9, there were positives for Chris Jones' crew. Saskatchewan posted 25 points for the second straight week, after failing to reach 20 in its previous four games.

The Blue Bombers escaped with a win in the annual Labour Day-weekend rivalry for the first time in 11 tries, but won't be entirely happy with their performance. Matt Nichols and the offense managed only one touchdown, instead relying on seven field goals from Medlock.

They also gave up nearly 400 yards through the air to Roughriders quarterback Darian Durant, but bailed themselves out with a pair of interceptions.

With the win, the Blue Bombers vaulted past the Edmonton Eskimos for third place in the Western Division and sit only one game behind the BC Lions for second.
