Argonauts look to keep rolling against surging Blue Bombers
Both the Toronto Argonauts and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers head into Friday night's game on a roll.
The Argonauts, despite the loss of quarterback Ricky Ray, pulled off a win with rookie signal-caller Logan Kilgore in Week 6 against Ottawa. It was the team's fourth win in the last five contests.
Kilgore completed 57 percent of his passes for 366 yards and one touchdown in the win. Toronto's offense has been aided with receivers Kenny Shaw and Vidal Hazelton combining for 700 receiving yards. On the defensive side of the ball, the Argonauts have allowed 23.3 points per game and have recorded 35 tackles.
After a difficult start to the season, the Blue Bombers have put together a pair of wins, beating the defending Grey Cup champion Eskimos, then crushing the Tiger-Cats.
The wins come after the club yanked quarterback Drew Willy in favour of Matt Nichols. Nichols has completed nearly 74 percent of his passes for 641 yards, four touchdowns, and no interceptions.
The Blue Bombers haven't won in Toronto since 2012.
