The BC Lions head into McMahon Stadium on Friday and look to keep the Calgary Stampeders from taking over the top spot in the West Division.

Coming off of a bye in Week 5, the Lions look to build off a 40-27 victory in their last contest against the Saskatchewan Roughriders in Week 4, and the team has yet to lose on the road in 2016. Friday's matchup will be just the second home game for the Stampeders, their previous coming in Week 2 with a 36-22 win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Both teams have had quite parallel seasons thus far in 2016. The Lions (3-1) have averaged 405.5 total yards of offence, with the Stampeders (2-1-1) trailing ever so slightly with 398 total yards. Although the season is still only five weeks old, the game could mark a potential West Conference final matchup.

Quarterbacks Jonathon Jennings and Bo Levi Mitchell have been neck-and-neck so far this season in regards to performance, with Stampeders running back Jerome Messam currently leading the league in rushing with 250 yards on 44 carries and one touchdown.

The winner of Friday's game will leave McMahon Stadium in sole possession of first place in the West Division. The Lions have the opportunity to vault three points ahead of the Stampeders, while Calgary would climb just one point above BC with a victory.

Game time is set for 8 p.m. CT.
